Why is the dirty old man longer and healthier than other men

We have always believed that when men and women reach an older age, they should change the rhythm of their lives, leave excesses behind, including sex. However, the latest geriatric studies dispute that principle, apparently the "Old Lechery" lives a long life. A study conducted by a group led by Professor Kaori Sakurada of the Department of Nursing, Yamagata University School of Medicine, has been published in the American scientific journal Pros One, published by the Public Library of Science, last December, stating that people who are very interested in the opposite sex live longer.

Professor Sakurada has carried out epidemiological investigation in close contact with the local community throughout Yamagata Prefecture. From that data analysis, she has reported that "the more you laugh, the longer your life expectancy."

The research surveyed approximately 19,000 men and women ages 40 and older (7,668 men and 11,386 women).

A questionnaire survey was conducted to those who participated in the study and they were asked to answer "yes" or "no" about their interest in the opposite sex."

As a result of the analysis based on these data, the mortality rate of those who were "not interested" in the opposite sex was 9.6%, higher than the 5.6% of those who were "interested". Professor Sakurada explains.

"After adjusting for other lifetime effects, such as aging and hypertension, the risk of all-cause mortality was 1.69 times higher in opposite-sex indifferent men than in men who continued to maintain their libido. tall".

Why is interest in the opposite sex related to life expectancy only for men?

"There is also an earlier study showing that divorced or widowed men have a higher risk of death than married men in Japan Men's interest in the opposite sex may be related to psychological well-being and purpose in life If you are not interested in various things, including the opposite sex, you will not be able to feel happy, you will not have no purpose in life, and I speculate that the risk of death increases," said Professor Sakurada.

For men, it is believed that their vitality and interest in the opposite sex are linked. "Men who lose interest in the opposite sex are more likely to lead unhealthy lifestyles, which can have negative psychological effects, resulting in a higher propensity for inflammation and negative effects on the endocrine system and immune response. ". A man who is sexually active, always looking for amorous adventures, will take care of his diet to stay fit, and attractive to the opposite sex.

Lustful men live longer”

In 1997, a British research team published an article in which they followed 918 men between the ages of 45 and 59 for 10 years. Those who reported being sexually aroused less than once a month had approximately double the mortality rate after 10 years compared with those who reported being sexually aroused more than twice a week.

Mr. Sakurada's research this time is superior because it covers more than 20 times the number of topics compared to British research.

A Harvard study found that men who ejaculated 21 or more times per month had a 22% lower risk of prostate cancer than men of the same age who ejaculated four to seven times per month.

Speaking of people who are experts despite their age, it is Mr. Monta Mino (78), who once made a name for himself as the "Emperor of Ginza". After announcing that he had Parkinson's disease, he disappeared from the public stage and refrained from club activities, but has recently returned to drinking in Ginza. When I interviewed him in early March, I found that his steps were steady and his expression rich.

"I'm looking for a new marriage partner every day, every day."
